About Ed Meese

Ed Meese began painting when he was only 11 years old.

Since then, he has experimented with printing and resin, creating breathtaking works of art filled with color. Meese’s technique produces extraordinary palettes of brilliant color resulting from the building of layers created by the chemical interactions of oils, powdered pigments, varnish and paint.

Meese says he paints “exactly the way I dream” and always aims for honesty in his work.

He recently returned from a visit to Israel, Rome and Greece, where he fell in love with the colors of the Mediterranean, especially “the coolness of the Israeli sands.”

Ed has a BFA from Wayne State University where he majored in painting and printmaking. He has a studio in the Burton Building in the Midtown Detroit area.
